The project originated from my desire to incorporate human factors engineering into the VR/AR design and development process. People do not fully understand virtual reality yet, and it is not the fault of these potential consumers. The collective VR community has done a poor job of creating a cohesive mental model for people to understand. Currently, most VR experiences are demonstrated through a screen capture video which will show a first person’s point of view in the digital environment. Mixed reality studios are seldom seen in traditional 3D environment development, but are necessary in creating exceptional digital experiences. Overall, I designed and built a mixed-reality configuration for viewing experiences from a 3rd person view for increased efficiency in usability testing and development.
